How to Customize WhatsApp Status: Fonts, Colors, and Brand Presets

When you post a text status on WhatsApp, the app randomly picks a font and background color. You can't control it consistently — and if you're building a brand on WhatsApp, random styling looks unprofessional.

Text always appears in white for maximum readability against any background.

Setting a Preset
From the Dashboard
Go to the Status tab in your dashboard. You'll see a visual preview of all fonts and colors. Select your preferred combination, give it a name, and save. Your preset applies automatically to every text status you post from that session.
From WhatsApp
Send yourself the status preset command to set your font and color:
status preset <font number>,<color number>
Examples:
status preset 6,14
This sets Calistoga font with a Navy background — great for professional announcements.
status preset 7,11
Exo 2 font with Saffron background — bold and attention-grabbing.
status preset 4,13
System Bold on Black — maximum impact, minimal distraction.
Want variety? Use random for either value:
status preset 9,15
Random font AND random color — every status looks different.
How Presets Work
- Saved per session — each WhatsApp connection has its own preset
- Persistent — your preset stays until you change it
- Applied automatically — every text status you post uses your preset
- View current settings — send
status presetwith no arguments to see your current font/color and all available options
Default behavior: If you haven't set a preset, every status gets a random font and color — similar to WhatsApp's native behavior, but with WASBOT's expanded color palette.
Using Presets for Brand Consistency
If you run a WhatsApp TV or business account, brand consistency matters. Here's a recommended workflow:
- Choose your brand colors — pick a font and color that match your brand identity
- Set the preset once —
status preset 4,13(or whatever matches your brand) - Post normally — every
statuscommand automatically uses your branding - Switch for special posts — change the preset temporarily for promotions or announcements
Text Statuses With Links
When your text status includes a URL, WhatsApp automatically generates a link preview with the page title, description, and thumbnail. Your font and color preset still applies to the text portion — the link preview card renders separately.

Status Text Limits
Text statuses support up to 4,096 characters — including emojis and non-Latin scripts. That's significantly more than a tweet, giving you plenty of room for detailed announcements, offers, or updates.
